Ten days ago the Blackhawks were up against the wall, down 3-1 in the Conference Semi-Finals to their division rival, Red Wings. One loss away from an early, devastating end to their promising 2012-2013 season. Like any good, championship-caliber team, the Hawks gutted it out winning three in a row sending Detroit packing.
Enter, the defending champion Los Angeles Kings.
The Kings came to the United Center en route to Saturday’s Western Conference Final having disposed of the St. Louis Blues in six games and San Jose Sharks in a thrilling inter-state seven game series. The Sharks took L.A. to an overtime contest with the Kings eventually winning 2-1. Goaltending has been one of LA’s strong points and Jonathan Quick has been just that. Presidents Trophy Winning Blackhawks. Games 1 and 2 were played back to back nights Saturday & Sunday because of a scheduling conflict at the United Center. Rock legends
THE ROLLING STONES have a concert scheduled on Monday night at the UC.
The NHL scheduled back to back games and it helped carry Chicago’s momentum into Game 2. The Hawks won on Saturday 2-1 and came out screaming vs LA in Game 2. The Hawks took a commanding 4-0 lead and eventually won the game 4-2.
